Every address you create can be personalised and is configurable for destinations. For example, choose to have your company e-mail address info@domain-of-your-choice.co.uk and get mail forwarded to a separate work or home address.

Each e-mail account is independent and can be accessed by specific individuals.

Alphawebs supports two different types of mailbox:

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) accounts allows access to your e-mail over the internet, Hotmail or Yahoo style. Your mail is stored on the hosting provider's servers, allowing you to view from any internet enabled PC.

POP3 (Post Office Protocol-version 3) accounts hold your e-mail on the hosting provider's servers until you choose to download the content onto your computer, this can be an instantaneous process if you are logged into your e-mail package during the working day

  You've already got e-mail addresses and set up the routines to check them elsewhere? You can easily divert all e-mails received under your new domain addresses to any other external e-mail address.
   

• Virus scan
  In response to the increasingly frequent threat from sophisticated e-mail spread virus attacks, the hosting provider chose world leaders Symantec, to safeguard customers from destructive Internet-borne e-mail viruses. Symantec's CarrierScan Server checks your incoming e-mails before they arrive in your mailbox, so nothing harmful can get through to you. Whenever a virus is detected, the attachment is removed and you will receive an immediate notification by e-mail and will be able to contact the sender. CarrierScan recognises all the most diverse viruses, worms and Trojan horses.
  
  If you want to add Symantec virus protection to more of your included e-mail accounts, you can do so for as little as £3/month per mailbox.
   

• Spam filter
  All the hosting provider's server e-mail accounts are equipped with exclusive Spam-filtering technology. Whenever you receive Spam mail, the message will be flagged so it can easily be ignored.
